Wales 2009
The choir travelled to Cardiff in October to give concerts in Llandaff Cathedral, City United Reformed Church, All Saints Church, Llandaff North and a joint concert with Cor Meibion Y Machlud in Cowbridge Town Hall. Guest soloists were Laura Nicholas and Rhys Lewis. The countryside of South Wales was explored on visits to the Museum of Welsh Life, The National Garden of Wales, Castell Coch, and the Brecon Beacons,.
Ireland 2008
A tour to Ireland took place in May 2008. Flying from Newquay Airport to Cork, the choir sang in the Monday evening Mass in St Augustine’s Church, Cork, which was broadcast over the internet. The following day was taken up by a visit to the Millstreet Country Park, and a concert hosted by the Duhallow Choral Society. The audience in the oldest church in Cork, St Anne’s Shandon, welcomed the choir for their final concert and its programme was warmly received. In between concerts the group enjoyed tours into the beautiful countryside and to historic sites.
Isle of Wight 2005
The Isle of Wight trip was a great success, with good attendances at every event. The choir had the pleasure of touring the island, gave two concerts, as well as appearing at a school. Ryde provided two venues, with a full concert at St John's Church, including choir soloists, and a visit to the enthusiastic pupils of Bishop Lovatt Middle School for an end of day assembly, when the choir performed, and Sheila involved the pupils in the music-making. The second concert was at Brading, where Mounts Bay Singers were joined by Newchurch Male Voice Choir, who are the only male choir on the Isle of Wight. As the coach broke down at the departure time, the members had an extra day to tour the island, arriving home at around six on the following morning, in plenty of time to sing in Redruth that night!
Italy 2003
In May 2003 the choir visited Italy, staying by Lake Garda. The choir sang in the 11.00 a.m. Sunday Mass in St Mark's Basilica, Venice, which was a very moving experience. Two concerts were given in churches in Riva del Garda and Cembra to appreciative audiences. A visit was made to Verona with its huge Roman Amphitheatre still used for operatic performances today, and the home of Romeo and Juliet. Excursions were taken to lakeside towns and into the mountains with meadows covered in alpine Spring flowers.
Shropshire and Cheshire 2002
In the autumn of 2002 the choir visited Shrewsbury. Two concerts were given, one in Shrewsbury Abbey and the other in St Mary's Church, Nantwich. Members enjoyed a trip to the historic City of Chester.
